Well...everything went fine yesterday after work. I met Rebecca outside of Center Plaza (where our landlord works) and we went up together. The guy is a big time lawyer...well...his name is in the name of the practice...so we went into a conference room and he explained things to us, then left us alone to read the lease. The thing was like 8 pages long and full of legal jargon. It was pretty easy to understand though...the jist of it anyway. After we were done we went to his office and talked things over...initialed things...asked questions...etc. At the end we wrote checks each for $1,533 (first and security deposit divided by 3). We shook hands, he said how excited he was for us to be his new tenants and we reciprocated the sentiments. It was nice.

Rebecca and I left. Julia, the third roommate had come by around 1:00 PM to sign her part. It's all set...we just have to meet to figure out bedrooms, utilities (cable, internet, opening electric and gas accounts, etc.) and to discuss a 4th roommate. The landlord seems really concerned about fires...I guess it makes sense. No smoking, no BBQing on the porches, no space heaters...etc. I also have to figure out how I'm going to get the queen sized bed out of the apartment I'm in now. I'm considering hiring movers just for my bedroom...is that unheard of? There's no other way I can get this shit out of here myself.

After Rebecca & I parted ways, I head off to the gym, had a good workout and came home. I stayed up watching OZ on HBO On-Demand. Good thing the season is almost over...the 6th Season that is...the final season. I would hate to have to rent the DVD whenever it comes out and just watch 2 episodes. The 6th season is really good...and I adore Patti Lupone and Betty Buckley...two Broadway divas making an appearence in a prison drama. Love it!! Oh...and in the last episode I watched, Joel Grey guest starred.

Today...the plan is to hit the gym...then go and do some grocery shopping. That needs to be done. I have nothing to call my own in the kitchen...thanks to weeks of buying meal by meal.

OK...before I go workout I have to drop off a letter to my current land lord, informing her that August will be my last month here and that July was my last rent check.

The bed isn't gonna come out of the room without breaking it anymore than it already is. Derick and I spent like 2 hours trying to get just the boxspring up there...that's where the scratch on the wall on the staircase came from :-)

So are you saying to forget about the bed? Or since the apartment is going to get rennovated anyway...should I try it. I'm probably going to wind up hiring people to take my stuff...
